Root has been an absolute life saver for our home building experience. We originally started out with a residential design/build who claimed to build custom homes. It wasn't until we were through the initial design process that we learned what we were getting was more of a "semi-custom home". This created a lot of frustration for us and so we began to seek out alternatives. After an extensive search of local architects we found Root and it was the best move we ever made.

Zeke (lead architect and owner) took all of our initial inspiration and came back with a design that not only honored these ideas, but built something even better. He's extremely collaborative and has listened to every piece of feedback we've ever given.

Additionally, he has coordinated literally ever aspect of the process from choosing a builder, to working through the interior design.

Working with Zeke has turned what can easily be an anxiety ridden venture into something that continues to excite us on our journey to build a truly unique home.

hired him to design a building that would serve as my permanent home. gave him a few specific parameters or features i desired. he proceeded to design an attractive building that incorporates many of the current popular aspects. that is why it has two stars instead of one. because he ignored my specifics and designed what he wanted. in fact, some things are the opposite of what i clearly stated, like designing the building to be 5000 square feet, while my stipulation was for a building under 2,500. if you like his style and design, great! if you want something else, go somewhere else
