We are currently restoring a Lake District Hotel to its former glory. We have been trying to identify what would have to go & what could be saved, when we came across this desk, we were convinced it was beyond saving & it was going to be fire wood. Then we heard about Roy and Jack, who were happy to make the journey to us and take a look. Cut to today and they hand delivered it and even helped us move it around different places to see where it looked best!! Could not have asked for better service and would absolutely recommend the pair of them for anyone looking to restore a piece of furniture to its former glory. 10/10 for customer service & product quality. Contacted Roy on a Friday to see if he could take 35mm off a solid oak dining table. He returned my call and booked in to see us on the Wednesday. He arrived on time and together we took the legs off the table which he took away to do on a bench saw at his premises. Roy was back with them on the Friday at the agreed time.
He helped me to put the 4 legs back on. Perfect fit and finish. The work was excellent.
Roy was a delight. Promp, courteous and friendly. And most importantly good at what he does. I am very pleased I used him.

Roy has loving restored my old oak table, it was a dark oak , heavily polished, I wanted it lighter with a matt finish, it looks fantastic , he kept me updated throughout the process, and collected and returned my table with care, also very reasonably priced for the amount of work he has done .

False promises.

Roy refurbished a coffee table for me.

He was polite and seemed trustworthy. His price was reasonable. Unfortunately thats the only good thing I can say about his services.

Roy promised a polyurethane finish that would be extremely durable. He certainly didn’t apply the finish he quoted for. The finish is extremely fragile and the table showed many scratches within a few weeks.

He also said he would repair a crack between two panels, he did not.

It looks like he failed to even sand some of the shelf inside.

Roy failed to return or answer any of our calls.

Thankfully we didn’t give him any more valuable furniture to work on.

Edit after Roy’s response:
No Roy, I do not have the wrong polisher it was you that took our money and ignored all of our calls and messages afterwards. How patronising.

Our wooden side table was badly damaged and frankly we were doubtful if it could be repaired. Roy came to look at it and reassured us that repair was possible. What a fantastic job. We were absolutely delighted with the result. Its practically impossible to see where the break occurred. True craftsmanship.

I recently was given a Bureau that belonged to my grandparents. It was in need of some TLC. I contacted Roy and he took it away and has with love and respect repaired, sanded and repolished it.
It looks just like it did, when I was a child, in my grandparents house. It now sits pride of place in my home.
