Scanprobe have been an important supplier to the industry for many years and the UK built CCTV products are of good quality with options to suit all needs. We purchased our first trap jumper earlier this year and have found this unit to be an absolute success. In fact it was out on the vans practically every day and managed to generate us more work. In turn we have now ordered a second trap jumper as this has been extremely reliable and we have had no problems with this. We can highly recommend this product as it succeeds whether other cameras can't due to access and tight bends. Having purchased many Scanprobe systems over the last 20 years amongst other competing systems on the market I decided to buy their latest innovation. An X40 pipe inspection camera from 4 weeks ago. I can say that it doesn’t disappoint and makes my work so much easier already. The basic model costs £2500, I just plug it into my mobile device and I have a reporting systems at hand through the MINA App. I don’t think any other system can offer this way of sending a report especially at that cost!
The lightweight unit means I can carry it to site so no need to wheel it across obstacles!
The flexible camera has made it ideal for a couple of domestic jobs where I have needed to navigate pipe bends and around toilet traps, gullies etc. I found out that the sonde is actually in the camera head which protects it from damage rather then being in the spring like on mist other systems on the market where it could be easily smashed up while going around bends. The coiler is also long enough for larger jobs (40m). I managed to push around 35m in 100mm pipe, but it would only push 27m of 150mm
The best thing by far is being able to attach my iphone to the unit instead of using a bulky control box and using the mina app has also been a game changer for me, I don’t think any other company offer this. I recommend a good tough case for a iphone when working in the rain or on building sites. Great piece of kit! The only criticism is that the X60 is not available yet, but I am told Scanprobe are expanding the range next year, which I’m really looking forward to getting. Excellent service with great staff, always helpful. ScanProbe, the original and still the best.
