I am not against building more homes but what we need are low rent and affordable homes and mixed small business and domestic developments in appropriate sites. Also, there seems to be no overall plan for local development. Flimsily built boring family houses with a drive for the car for the more affluent seem to pop up everywhere. Where are the affordable flats for young people who want to (or have to) move out of their family home or older people who are living alone. They are built on former industrial sites like Chunel and below Bottoms Dam in Tintwistle which equals more people, cars etc. and no local jobs! Also, in Hadfield we have new family homes going up everywhere but only one Tesco Express without a car park and a Nisa Local. Glossop has Aldi, Lidl, a big Tesco, M&S, B&M Bargains, .... Everyone comes to Tesco Extra in the car and blocks Station Road so the bus can't get through! I'm OK with homes for people but include ALL people and make an overall plan that is good for the area, not just give Seddon, Barratt Developments, ... free reign to build where and what they want!

Incredibly sad to see this development on, what was meant to be, a 'green wedge' between Hadfield and Glossop in the Local Plan. Now gone forever. Glossopdale is subject to over-development, and the overwhelming majority of the homes that are being built are completely out of reach of local working class people.
