Delighted with product and service. After 5 years of working out of my living room, I decided to take the plunge and commission a bespoke garden office to be a shared space with my artist teen. The result is a light and airy space which is warm and cosy in the winter months, with a huge north facing picture window giving the best light for art and lovely views of the garden.

From our meeting on site with Paul through to the build the process was smooth and at all times the team were focused on giving us the end product we wanted. We opted for the pent roof with no planning permission required - the process from beginning to end took 10 weeks. The build happened on the given dates, completed on time and the team were at all times, friendly, polite and kept the site tidy. They worked in all weathers (we live on the western edge of Dartmoor, so when it rains here it really rains!). I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

It was a big decision for us to replace an old garden shed with a garden room. From the first visit to the farm I was reassured that it was the right decision. The planning and site visits went smoothly and the build was completed within weeks. The quality of the building is outstanding, I was impressed by the expertise of the workmen, they were courteous, efficient and worked so hard. We used Shields building company 20 years ago and the buildings are still as new so no hesitation in asking them to build a carport and shed.
Excellent communication throughout the process.
Quality of the building is exceptional with amazing attention to detail.
The whole team for start to finish have been excellent and the team who worked on site were extremely professional, skilled and helpful. They took time to explain the process and involved us in all decisions.

We had an excellent experience working with Shields on a carport project at our property in Somerset. The company was extremely helpful in providing all the necessary information before work got under way on site. The look, design and quality of the finished project are superb. We love the "shield" finials! The oak frontage was just the right option for us too. The team who put the building up were also top notch, carrying on work even when the weather was atrocious and working very well to a tight timescale. Paul did a site visit which helped bring all the moving parts together and generally supported us most helpfully throughout the process. Looking at ways to work with Shields again in the future!

One of my customers had a Shield Shed, and i was impressed with the Build quality. We made contact with Shields and visited their site at North Tawton. We were very impressed looking at the range of buildings in the flesh and this made our decision process much easier. Nothing was to much trouble, Paul Gent looked after us throughout our visit. We had a delay at our end, but this was not an issue. A date was confirmed and three great chaps arrived with a massive amount of timber, tools, and constructed our shed. They were very professional from start to finish, polite and courteous. They ran through everything i needed to know about the after care etc., and left the site spotlessly clean. Our new storage building (posh shed!) has been in place for 3 months now and we are delighted with it. The whole purchase process (including Shields sorting out the planning application) and the installation by the friendly and efficient in-house team was very smooth. Shields are not the cheapest for sure but we have a very high quality building that was adapted to exactly what we wanted and is good value. You get what you pay for!!

For almost a decade, I planned to have a Car Port next to my Garage; I chose John Shields Buildings & I am so glad I did!

They sent out a Surveyor, then shortly after a team of 3 Installers. Within 3 days they had completed my Oak Double Car Port. They worked well as a team; were polite; punctual; knowledgeable & professional. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew.

The result was an outstanding Car port, which was extremely well designed; made & Constructed.
