Contracted Singleton Brothers to render chimney in k-rend. Took seven months to finish job for probably 3 days work tops. No communication, just turned up on their terms. Not the best finish, but did stop the leak and did turn up to correct a snagging issue. Wouldn't employ again due to length of time and lack of communication, wouldn't recommend.

We had what we thought was an issue with dry rot, Mick was very helpful came to the property to review, after a thorough check it was an error by a mortgage companies surveyor and actually wet rot that was far less an issue.
Mick reassured what the full problem was and how to fix.

Having had damp proofing treatment completed by Singleton Brothers over 3 mths ago, I've noticed several cracks appear in the render, with the emergence of damp discolouration. This shouldn't be happening after having spent well over £12k with this company. I've messaged and emailed Mick Singleton and initially was unresponsive, even though he'd viewed my message. Eventually replied only after I'd left a review on Checkatrade to say it's normal to expect cracking on the render for the first year?
This however was never previously mentioned and in speaking to other damp proofing firms since, it's become clear that even his fellow peers in the trade are adamant that these issues shouldn't be occurring at this stage.

I can only assume the 30-yr Guarantee I received is effectively worthless?

In general, I found Mick to be dishonest with timescales and not transparent. Was professional initially, but his professionalism and communication quickly descended once the initial payment was made.

The work took much longer than it should and the quality of the finished gypsum plastering was below standard, which had to be buffed and sanded back by my painting and decorating team to establish a better finish.

Mick was quick to attend our property, listen to the problems a previous builder had left and provided other with several options. His team were quick to squeeze us in-between other jobs and did an amazing job and fixed our leaking foundation problems. So pleased with their work and would highly recommend them.
