Appalling. We weren’t notified that there was a problem with our building control application. The policy is that if you don’t hear in 5 days after application that you have been approved. We weren’t notified so started work now been told we haven’t been approved even though they took payment and let us book inspections? Now I can’t even get a phone call back from the person I need to speak to in order to find out if I’ve just wasted £700 paying for concrete due to arrive tomorrow? Been given the ok to fill foundations but now been told rejection is due to sewers (which is a mistake by Severn Trent). So can I fill the foundations or not? If I do and it’s wrong I’ve wasted £2k + and if I don’t go ahead you have just cost me £700. So being as this is due to your incompetence perhaps you could at least call me back so I have time to ring the concrete firm.

No complaints from me. Some builders slate building control but I find this company responsive, helpful, prompt with enquiries and always turn up in the time they say. What else can you ask for from Building Control?
