We purchased our home from Sunningdale House, and unfortunately, the roads and our driveway have never been fully completed. There is no management company in place, and the entire situation has become a complicated legal matter. As things currently stand, it would be very difficult for us to sell our home.

In our experience, the home warranties and insurance provided have not met our expectations, and we feel that the relevant local authorities, such as Thanet District Council, did not have adequate safeguards in place to protect homeowners in case the development encountered issues.

If you are considering purchasing a property from Sunningdale House or any of its related companies, we strongly recommend exercising caution. In our opinion, it is crucial to ensure that both the development and your property are completely finished before exchanging contracts, as addressing any issues afterward could prove to be challenging.

We recently purchased a new build and would thoroughly recommend them. From my first contact with Nicole to even now a few months after completion, I have been extremely happy and impressed with their service. I especially liked the folders of all the documents on completion (obviously loved the gift hamper and bow). The little touches really made a difference and the purchase was completely stress free compared to other properties I’ve bought. Thank you Nicole and Sunningdale.

We moved into Miller's Retreat in Walmer in August 2022. This is our first ever new build home which brings great benefits and a few challenges. The house itself is constructed to a high standard, beautifully designed with modern insulation that keeps heating bills under control in these challenging times. It is a luxury to know that we are the first users of all the fixtures and fittings, and they are likely to last a good while without repair or replacement. Of course the garden is fairly small, but we are not keen horticulturalists so it is sufficient for the dog and gives us an exterior space for entertaining in the summer. Storage is a challenge too- there are no fitted wardrobes and you cannot use the loft space.

No new build is without snags, but Sunningdale have been super- responsive. Early on we used to laugh that tradespeople would knock at the door to fix problems we didn't even know we had! Construction is continuing on the development, so if we did need someone they were usually on site. Otherwise they were available to call out quickly. Lisa in Customer Service has been very helpful, and I am still full of praise for Nicole from sales who drove our sale and purchase on our behalf.

We are looking forward to having some neighbours. The first signs of a community are beginning to show.

We purchased our home in 2021. As first time buyers we were unsure what to expect, however the overall finish on the house was great and more then what we were expecting. As with any new development there were some minor snagging issues but these were dealt with promptly and professionally by the customer care team. Katherine from customer care was on hand and responded to any concerns we had and always followed these up and Tom ensured the work got carried out and was completed to the best standard and ensured that it was to the quality that we wanted and again always followed up to ensure we were happy with the work. We also had James round who carried out some work who again ensured that it was done and of high quality. Purchasing a new home while still in lockdown came with its stresses but thanks to Katherine, Tom and James and the hard work, determination and effort they all put in our home is exactly what we could have hoped for and the overall experience of buying a new home was made less stressful due to their efforts.

My wife and I recently bought a Sunningdale property at Miller's Retreat. We were disappointed to have several snagging issues which takes the gloss of a new home. However we must express our sincere thanks to Lisa from the customer care team who has worked hard to help sort out the issues. She is a very good communicator and provides a great service and is a real ambassador for the Company .

Sunningdale/development housing have ruined what should have been the best experience for myself my family as the whole process of buying our FIRST dream house from them has been a shambles!! The development was delayed with little to no correspondence as to what was going on! When we finally got the good news informing us that the house was ready and we could come for a demo before getting the keys. Upon noticing faults we were told they would be rectified by the time we signed for the keys, low and behold only a couple of the issues had been resolved and we are still waiting for some of these to be rectified even after 7 months! Normally I would have refused signing for the keys but due to the delays on the house, the day we signed for the keys was the same day our mortgage offer expired so we were backed into a corner as in the current climate a new mortgage offer was highly unlikely due to the interest rates. To top it all off we paid for a professional housing ‘snagger’ to inspect our house and some of the results are shocking to say the least! E.g Extractor vent pipes in the loft not connected, missing fire proofing between the two houses, leaking toilets, damaged windows and doors also I’m pretty sure the painter wore a blindfold as there is paint everywhere. Yet even with our issues being sent on to the local government due to utilising their help to buy scheme as we thought they should be made aware of the issues. As I previously mentioned we are now 7 months into what should have been one of the happiest moments of our lives and it’s just been one issue after another. We have had nothing but empty promises about the snags being rectified, trades failing to turn up when we have been told they would be and to top it off when trades eventually turn up most of the issues have been from poor site management and even hearing rumours that trades haven’t been paid correctly hence why we have had the issues we have! So if your looking for your first care free new build then this isn’t the company for you!!

Nothing but horrific service from Sunningdale. It took over a year for Sunningdale to repair a leak on our property which included over 15 times they just didn’t show up / nor answered the phone to give a reason. Finally the leak was sorted and they had ‘arranged’ for carpet cleaners to come in but lo and behold these cancelled four times with numerous excuses. It was advised I book the carpet cleaners myself and sunningdale would reimburse me. A month later and still no money has been sent back to me. My calls and emails are falling on deaf ears.

Furthermore our management company is waiting to be reimbursed for a faulty pump from Sunningdale and lo and behold they have not paid. This has resulted in our gardeners / window cleaners being stopped as we are waiting on funds.

It is impossible to get hold of anyone from this company that will give you a straight answer.

We have just bought a Sunningdale house.

The house is fantastic, but better still was the help from Carole Hart, our point of contact.

We had some problems with the bottom of our relatively short chain which Carole was instrumental in resolving. She managed to work through the chain to get direct contact with the relevant solicitor totally eclipsing the services provided to us and the other vendors serviced by Miles and Barr, Wards and Purple Bricks.
I have no doubt without her assistance not only would we have missed the stamp duty cut off, we likely wouldn't have completed at all leaving the whole chain in very difficult positions.

Edit. After sales service was frankly dreadful. Full of excuses, delays, poor communication and frustrating.
9 months to fix a leaking roof!! Floors suspended on incorrect hangers. Windows not sealed properly causing damage to ceilings, a screw through a cable, broken tiles in the bathroom, poorly fitted fascias......that's just what I remember off the top of my head.
I didn't see any point updating this as it probably would have done me no favours but I then found out Sunningdales has a history as other companies. I'd seriously reconsider buying from them under a different name.
At the very least have a professional company come and do the snagging for you
