Can't recommend T M Ventham highly enough. We had major damage to our roof and attic. Darren Ventham was outstanding in assessing the damage, visiting several times onside, working with and guiding our contractor, and in talking with the loss adjustor. Look no further!

Phoned up to book survey and asked if possible to have chat with engineer who surveys our house after report completed, as we are taking loans to cover building works. Would not have booked if this was not an option.

This was confirmed in writing, and verbally by Dan in the office.

The report was fine, however a month and a half later I have still not spoken to the engineer.

My emails are being ignored, and I have phoned the office 5 times to try book an appointment, each time I'm told 'Terry will call you when he's free', never given a fixed time or date.

We paid our invoice early to avoid any delay with a phone appointment.

This is a real shame as we used this firm in 2018 for a survey on another property and we had a great experience.

Quick turnaround on plans, very detailed and did the survey at a cheaper rate then normal. All of this was appreciated.

Very large RSJ recommended for knocking through a wall, seemed overkill but I'm lead by the experts.
When builders came to put the RSJ in, it transpired one of the load bearing walls it was set to be put onto wasn't load bearing....

We ended up having to dig to put in a concrete base and a vertical RSJ.
Asked for a reduction on fee due to this oversight however was advised its a "unforeseen issue".
The entire point of the survey was to assess and calculate what was possible.

I’ve had two jobs through TM Ventham in the last year, after being recommended by my builder. The first was for a house which sadly fell through, but Dan who was assigned to me was brilliant. The work was for the structural calcs for a loft conversion and kitchen extension. Dan was prompt and polite when we did the quotation at the property. His extensive knowledge of building works promoted me to apply for neighbourhood consultation which I would’ve missed otherwise.
The calcs were produced within the agreed timeframe and were perfectly adequate for my builder.
More recently I called on Dan’s services on a house I was successful in buying. This time for a loft conversion. Whilst the waiting time was considerably longer for the quotation visit, but understandable in the post covid context with everyone doing house improvements, Dan honoured the agreed times. We met at the property and had another thorough discussion. Again structural calcs arrived promptly within the agreed timescales and my new builder had no problems quoting off them. Dan even rang my builder to check his preferences for certain aspects before finalising the calcs.
In both instances, bar a day or so wait, I’ve had no trouble getting hold of Dan to make changes etc to the plans and discuss options and what would be possible.
I have already recommended TM Ventham to friends and will certainly go back for my next building job.

Had the pleasure of meeting Dan for an appointment, arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgable. Gave plenty of time to fully understand what we wanted to achieve and sent the report over within the week as promised after being let down by anther firm. Huge thanks to Dan and T M Ventham. Not reliable company. I Contacted Terry from this company for structure engineer’s report work and he said they could provide this service. So I sent them all the details that he asked for and he said he would provide a quote based on my details. But I haven’t hear anything from him until now. I emailed him no reply. Just waste time do deal with this company. I thought if your company too busy you could let me know so I could go to find another company.

Late or missing responses to all of their responsibilities. Do not return phone calls or answer emails. Cause too much stress to me as the client because of this. Assigned engineer unapologetic and did not seem to care.
