This company have ruined a lovely green field site to build ugly buildings so small they are barely bigger than rabbit hutches. This was a protected site. A beautiful place of calm and green space lost for ever.

Our experience with Thakeham has been excellent from the sales process to the overall build quality and the resolution of a few relatively minor issues. The sales centre, construction and aftercare staff have all been very helpful. The Woodgate development is well planned and it is great to see a developer prepared to offer a more contemporary design of house as part of the overall scheme.

To be fair they have put new patio doors in as mine were scratched. BUT I noticed the paintwork only had undercoat. On the stairs in the middle of the rail we had a small area in the middle with gloss paint on, they missed the rest!! All the paint work needs painting it feels like it’s just undercoat. The walls need painting only been here 18 months the paint supposed to be waterproof it’s more like chalk paint.
But worse of all my grass in the garden it has not grown in quite a few places because they have laid it on clay. The rain has washed the grass and stones away at the end of garden, we had a stream running down, it’s very slippery. WHAT I can’t get over the state of the grass but no one wants to take responsibility just passing the butt.
It’s August 24 they have finally put a 2 drain aways in my garden. I told them I did not want it unless they put grass back down. Yes we’re do that!! Done the drains, guess what they then tell me when they’ve finished they have put top soil on the areas they have dug up, to be washed away with the rain and no topsoil I have to seed it. Quite unbelievably, but they grassed my neighbours because it was on her plans, not mine.
They came back used the off cuts that were left over, they never even butted it up with the grass that’s down, it’s like a patchwork quilt. What I did notice when they went, it was quite unbelievably they put a plant pot where there was not enough grass. They have left my heavy pots of flowers on my normal grass told me not to put them back yet. I am 70 years old, my husband is still in hospital after 3 weeks had a serious operation, how we’re going to move them is impossible.
Told me to water it, I wouldn’t waste my water on it!!
The one star was for my patio doors.

We’ve bought a Thakeham home in May this year and have been extremely impressed with the company. Overall, our home is finished to a great standard and we’re really happy with the quality of the fittings and fixtures. Nothing is too much for Thakeham to fix and their response time is great. The customer care team have been really welcoming and approachable. Nothing seems like too much of an ask. It’s been a really refreshing experience. Thank you Thakeham. We’re looking forward to many years of happiness in our home

Went round their development at Woodgate and was massively impressed by the whole site. The new school they have built looks fantastic and the massive green space at the heart of the village is an amazing space for kids to play.. we are coming back to view more properties in preparation for our move down south..

Homes are lovely and the setting is wonderful but they are let down by their poor customer service. Emails go weeks without response and issues aren't resolved.

9 months we've been waiting for a replacement door. We've already had one winter where it let out warm air.

3 months we've been waiting for two windows be fixed.

I've had a builder tell me an issue with my driveway was my fault because I bought a house on a slope (we bought off plan).

Thakeham do not have the 5* customer service they promote.

They claim on their billboards to have completed a shop and Community Hub. It's still a shell of a building. They also claim to have invested in sports facilities, no idea what these are.

I would avoid if you can.

Don’t buy a thakeham home if you wish to be ignored by customer services when you need issues resolving in your house.

We have needed a replacement for an issue on our house for over 9months and no matter how many times you email, you will receive no response or be told how everyone is on annual leave.

Whilst it is a beautiful place to live, it’s not worth the hassle being ignored - don’t be fooled by the fake positive reviews.

We moved to the Woodgate development in 2022. Very pleased with the build standard but even more pleased with the speedy actions of Michelle and Annette where any assistance was needed. Those carrying out any work in the property did so to a very high standard
