This is an unusual review because I haven’t actually used Chris’s architectural services, BUT WISH I HAD! Chris visited us during COVID but my wife did not sense the synergy, which caused my hesitation and took us elsewhere. Two years later, although we have planning, the momentum to turn the vision into reality has stalled. Looking back, Chris demonstrated not only similar projects, he also had lots of trade contacts to keep the momentum moving forward and in hindsight, wasn’t ridiculously priced either. Ensure you are aware of ALL the costs, ask Chris about pitfalls that stall momentum. I wonder how far we would have come along if had used Chris. Do not overlook The Art of Building.

Chris and the team were very professional from the start. The whole process was a reassuring pleasure. From dealing with the council to dealing with the builders. Nothing was too much trouble. The Art of Building have been excellent with of extension project. We asked The Art of Building to review our existing floor plan and develop extension concepts based on some key elements we wanted to keep. We were happy that they understood the brief and the final design was very similar to our own initial idea before engaging with The Art of Building. They were great at getting the planning submission through without any hiccups and also sharing a list of builders they work with to get some initial project quotes. All in all a great service.

We purchased a Victorian terrace, which we wanted to extend. After looking at similar properties on the internet, we found a few we liked and one in particular was designed by The Art of Building.
So we had an initial meeting with Chris and Dan and once we realised they would be able to implement our ideas, we employed them to draw up plans to convert the house from top to bottom.
They helped us through the planning stages, recommended a number of builders and on hand to provide advice throughout the building process. We are very happy with the completion of the project and would most definitely recommend the Art of Building.

What do you get with a 1.5 build and a woman project manager in her 70’s Me!
A great service from the art of Building that’s what. I inherited the plans by them, but as you do, you tweak them, in my case a few times but they never lost patience with me. All in all I’m pleased to say all was plain sailing, the end result a fantastic property that works well for us and without the support and expertise of the Art of Building I might be telling a different story.
Just for the record project number 2 and 3 are just about to hit their desk and I know they won’t disappoint
