We are locals who love to support the close-by establishments and The Engineer's House is a lovely spot.

However, pricing wise, especially as most attending it are locals, we didn't feel (on our visit yesterday), that we got our money's worth. A pint of Cider for 6£ is a regular (high) price in 2024, but why does a thin Pizza with a bit of goat cheese (i e the GOAT Pizza on the menu), needs to cost 17£? It was alright Pizza, but I regret to say not one that's worth so much.

The place itself offers a cool vibe, although as it is outside and the seating arrangements are picnic tables and wooden benches, there's a sense that cost wise the customer is charged a premium for a basic (even though trendy) return.

DO NOT get the mangoose ale.

It doesn't taste or look like a beer but more a homemade attempt to ferment orange juice. DO NOT recommend, it shouldn't even be sold, it is disgusting. We tried to swap it for somthing drinkable but the bartender wasn't having any of it (even though it was £5.40 for 2/3 pint).

I DO however recommend the glaxis dwag ale ( cloudy pilsner) and the mosaic and simcone (bitters)

Pizza were fresh and surprisingly very delicious! They only serve pizzas, no other pub food

All their ales are made from the mill road brewery where they have a 2nd indoor pub.

Came here with an old friend visiting Cambridge last night. I got the vegan pizza with courgette and pesto and he got the pepperoni pizza. He raved about the pizza and said he thought it might be the best pizza he ever had! The vegan one was also incredible. The flavours of the toppings were brilliant and the base was perfectly cooked - nice and crispy. Nice staff too.

Great pizza. On a sunny day sitting outside in late May/early June we had a pleasant view over the river watching the rowers go by in their eights practicing for the bumps. When the weather is less good there is some seating available inside. Good destination for a river walk or to eat when visiting the technology museum next door.

Just popped in for some sunshine pizza. There was a lovely older gentleman serving (ie about my age), who really brought great personality to the bar.
First time i've been since it's changed ownership and the already good pizza's are even better.

We walked by this place many times and finally decided to check this place out.
The pizza’s were absolutely delicious but when we arrived it was super busy so they told us it’ll take a while for the pizza’s to arrive, we didn’t realise that meant over an hour wait.
the atmosphere is amazing but we barely got any service which is understandable considering how packed they were.
I recommend going at a less busy time if you’re looking for a nice place to eat but if you’re coming here to have a good time and don’t care how long you have to wait for your food this is a great place for you.

They had a large party so they were not serving food without reservations, but that info was not available until you went to the counter to order the food, that was not available....
