It we need any more architectural services we will definitely be using them.

We asked the Morrison Partnership to come up with plans to improve and increase the downstairs space in our house, specifically by extending the kitchen and adding to the back of house. In the latter case, initial thoughts of a basic add-on conservatory became an innovative design for a substantial garden room. Brimming with interesting and sometimes whimsical ideas (see the home page of their website for a flavour of that!) the Morrison Partnership worked closely with us to come up with attractive but practical concepts. Aware of our budgetary constraints, their recommended approach with regards to contractors worked well and they were always there to help as the project progressed. We have been very pleased with the overall result and would thoroughly recommend the Morrison Partnership.

Very happy with the service from George and the team. We enlisted them to totally redesign our house and they have produced a light, modern and fantastic family home. They project managed the build and were on-hand to deal with contractors and ensure any disputes were dealt with which minimised stress for us during the process. I found them to be friendly and approachable and would definitely recommend using them as architects.

Really bad experience with George Morrison Parnership architects several years ago.
My wife and I were quite young in a new house and wanted to extend
the kitchen.
We saved up and paid £1200. Upfront for him to submit our drawings
that we had spent hours doing ourselves to the local council for planning.
We were verbally promised by him personally that costs would not exceed £1200.and we were happy to agree as we did not have any more than that and I expected to the build the extension myself over a couple of years with an estimated cost of around £20,000.including getting an architect to submit our drawings.
We explained that we only wanted The Morrison partnership to submit our own drawings to the council although in they're architects format as we were inexperienced with any planning, although this was ignored by George and we were sent a totally new design and set of drawings done by them without our request.
We were a bit miffed and dismissed them saying wanted our design exactly to be submitted and finally ,our design was submitted and approved by the council at the first request without any hitches.
We requested the drawings from George Morrison although before receiving them and to our horror we were sent a bill for many more thousands than that and we protested to George although he immediately became very formal ,rigid and would not budge stating we signed the docs so we're therefore due the much higher amount than what was verbally agreed and what we thought we were signing up to.
We explained that we only made in the low thousands per year and he stated that was ok as we could pay him £500. A month until paid.
We were angry and told him we did not feel we were due anything above the £1200. Already paid as any time he had wasted having his "Team" doing other designs ,drawings etc was done without us requesting.
We were only threatened with legal action as a result of trying to reason with him.
We felt compelled to protest and did in fact protested outside his office on Queensferry Rd with massive placards reading WE WERE CONNED BY
THE MORRISON PARTNERSHIP in the middle of the day,as we did not
have that kind of money to waste and were very angry with the way George Morrison had misled us we felt.
We also wished to prevent any others falling into similar problems in the future.
.

We were taken to court by George Morrison and fought in the courts for months as we refused to pay (in our opinion) his unjustified fees .We represented ourselves although since I had signed the documents provided by George the court found in his favour and it cost us over £20,000 overall .
A whole years wages at the time.plus the £1200. Initial signup that we thought was the whole charge for submitting our own drawings done on Google sketch up to the council.
We never built any extension and all we got for our £20,000 was a massive headache and almost lost our home as a result.
We were stressed out for months and had to max out several credit cards to pay and almost lost our house and we're threatened with bankruptcy to make us pay up.

The terms were very misleading we feel ,the way they were laid out was very misleading ,so beware of this and I fully DO NOT recommend them what so ever, please BEWARE of signing anything without having a solicitor to anylise it carefully first and assures you what you will be signing are satisfactory to you as the terms in the paperwork we received were not clear and we easily got lost in the description between 'Stages and phases,.
Also they were left way open to interpretation according to our expert witness we appointed to assist us through the court process ,meaning that due to its wording and structure in our opinion,
any judge looking through the signed paperwork can either see it your way ,or side with the professional as a result.
A judge can do this without bias I may add !
Please do do take anyone at their word when it comes to this sort of thing
as in our opinion,we were misled into signing documents with false verbal assurances
that costs would not escalate beyond our means.
BEWARE.

I was recommended TMP by neighbours who had used them and also by a friend who is very much involved in the property developing world and knew their good reputation. I could not have been more pleased to appointment TMP for my renovation of a large apartment. They have gone beyond in dealing with challenges that crop up in renovations and their advice and caring service has been much appreciated. Would use them again without hesitation.

In my opinion I would definitely not recommend these guys.
They were family friends so we used them for a business project we had. In my opinion the costs were hugely more than was ever discussed and I don't recall being kept updated about them along the way. We had a written and signed agreement that any flexible or variable hours would be billed monthly and they only sent a bill after I chased it up some months after. In that time they'd billed over 150 hours at £100/hour. Approx £20,000 bill! Apparently the fact that the agreement says they'll bill monthly and they didn't doesn't protect me. Hugely immoral in my opinion. There was also about 30 hours (£3000) for work which in my opinion they could not show what had been done or what I'd asked them to do in that time. That's when I really started to think I was getting screwed.
Would you expect a family friend to be fair and helpful and look out for your interests and your wallet? Would you be upset if you got sent a huge bill with no warning? How would you feel if you agreed a fixed price for something and then it got charged at many times more than that?
If someone had a lot of upset customers they'd know exactly how to deal with them and they might try and trap you with a confidentiality clause and threaten to sue you if you wrote bad reviews.
I will definitely not be using them again.

This review was edited after getting a lawyer's letter threatening legal action if it wasn't removed. I see that since posting it they've acquired other reviews, presumably because they couldn't get this one removed.
