Recycle Project was to me a hidden gem which I recently discovered to my great delight and fulfilment. All the staff are extremely approachable, welcoming and helpful. I needed a threshold for patio doors and Daz made me from scratch a top notch heartwood one for a fraction of the price it is worth. It looks perfect and I'm utterly delighted with it. He also made for me three bespoke mug-hanging shelves, also absolutely perfect. I highly recommend this place and also implore you to have a good look round, it's Aladdin's Cave!

I went along to The Recycle Project for the first time last weekend, when I saw one of the £5 sale adverts on Facebook. As a primary school teacher, I was keeping an eye out for a few things for my new classroom next year, so I thought I'd go along for a gander. Ended up with a lovely solid wood table (in the process of repainting this and giving it new lease of life), two little stools for my book corner (both had been reupholstered in matching grey fabric), a brand new board game, some binoculars, a little African djembe (I lead music at school) and a couple of other bits and bobs for an absolute bargain!! I'll be back again when you have your next event to see if I can scope out a few more classroom bargains 🙂 The staff I talked to and dealt with were all friendly and helpful, and I was super impressed by how organised the place was considering it's such a rabbit warren with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, treasures of all kinds to find, and all the smaller spaces they use to great effect. Such a great idea and I'm pleased to be decorating my classroom with some pre-loved pieces instead of buying brand new!

Interesting and good bargains to be had ! Is on the same road as York tip so if having a clear out and you have recyclable / sellable goods you can drop them off here !

It's been a pleasure to work in collaboration with The Recycle Project CIC on Yorwaste's Get reCycling bicycle reuse campaign. Brad has been very flexible and obliging over general arrangements and Luke has been great on the stands, giving free safety checks on bikes and being very friendly and helpful with advice and information.
The work of the Project is fabulous, diverting unwanted bicycles and household products from destruction, checking them then passing them on for reuse. Just what's needed in today's otherwise wasteful world.
