We highly recommend ‘Up the garden path’ if you have an unusual space for a garden! Our garden is wide and narrow on 2 levels with views of fields. We met David and instantly liked his approach to designing our garden. Along with Rachel who organised and scheduled every meeting and visit and was there for any queries, make a great team. David’s hard landscaping plans made use of every corner of our garden, doubling its use and creating space. The soft planting, following a site meeting was exactly what we were looking for and now the garden is being used and loved every day while the plants settle in! We couldn’t have achieved the final result without using them. They had the ideas and plans to go to tender. We used a great, local Leicestershire contractor who David also liaised with. We are so happy with the results and how the planting is growing in to the space. We feel it was worth the expense of a designer at the beginning of the project as David had the vision and ideas for the garden that we wouldn’t have even considered. Thank you David and Rachel it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you.

This will be the third garden that David has designed for us, brought to life by landscapers Sean and Mandy, who worked tirelessly through rain and shine to transform a depressing eyesore into a garden we can be proud of. We first contacted David in 2019, with specific ideas for our garden. From the beginning David was friendly and listened to what we wanted, he also made suggestions based on his knowledge.
We were extremely pleased with the result and have recently contacted him again for advice on our holly trees.

David and Rachel at Up The Garden Path have provided us with a great garden design service. During the early stages, David listened to our ideas and incorporated them into a design that worked really well with our planned extension and allowed us to visualise how things would look when complete. The drawings and specifications were done to a very high standard, which allowed us to get an accurate quote and to engage a landscaper to complete the works.

During the landscaping, David was always on hand to advise when practical queries arose, and, now the works are substantially complete, both he and Rachel have helped to identify the plants we need and placed them out to create a great planting scheme.

We’re really pleased with the results now that the design has turned into reality and look forward to enjoying many years in our new outdoor space - it really feels like we’re on holiday at home!!

David is a very friendly character with years of experience in garden design which showed when he explained our garden design plans.
His drawings are very professional, detailed and pretty to look at. We shared long conversations about ideas for our garden and discussed how they could be implemented. David was able to design our garden to a specification that we are able to install ourselves. We haven't started yet but are eager to as soon as the weather brightens.
Would definitely recommend David to anyone who is looking to redesign their garden 🙂

Little did we know that in our "random" internet choice for a garden designer we would be unleashing an amazing creative talent. What was going to be a "project" became an adventure.

When David visited we were provided with some brilliant ideas that we had never even contemplated. But beyond his creativity he is also a good listener and nothing was too much trouble. We were struck by David's enthusiasm, he was a pleasure to work with and the results were fantastic. The project was managed in a professional way, to the agreed timescales and with a high level of workmanship.
