Scott and his wonderful team have worked on projects with us for some 13 years now, very efficient and prompt to come back to you.

Our latest project is on going but but help/advice has been at the end of the phone at a drop of a hat.

Looking forward to the next one!

We asked Scott to investigate a damp issue after being given conflicting advice from ‘damp specialists’. Scott’s inspection was thorough and he gave comprehensive advice which backed up our own suspicions. This advice saved us tens of thousands of pounds which wouldn’t have corrected the problem. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company.

Scott and the team are nothing short of miracle workers.
We had a very unfortunate situation where both the Architect and Builder on our project were hugely underperforming and delivering substandard (and for that matter) dangerous work.

Frankly we were a very dire situation and didn't know which way to turn. Scott came in and helped us unpick a very difficult situation, ensuring that we had the right evidence and followed the correct process to terminate both contracts correctly.

From the first meeting, Scott gave us calm and clear guidance, in an easy to understand manner. He then stepped in as Project Manager, providing us with support, advice and confidence to take back control of our project, getting things back on track. Frankly, we could not have done it without him.

He was also able to provide detailed reports as an expert witness to assist with our claim.

We have no hesitation in recommending Urban Surveying and Design.

The service I received was responsive to my needs, extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The survey of my flat needed to be done by a deadline, and the circumstances were complicated. Furthermore, the survey was thorough and allowed me to make informed decisions. I would highly recommend Urban Surveying & Design. Many thanks to Nicola and Scott for you were good value for money and very attentive to my situation.

I have worked with Urban in two capacities, one as a contracted Drone Pilot surveying property and also as a client. I have to say, what a fabulous company to work with, so helpful and even out of hours if you have any questions. They surveyed my property, drew up house plans and liaised with building regulations to take away the pain of doing a house renovation. I would highly recommend this family feel local firm, who really do care 5/5

We have had a very bad experience with this company, in my opinion they did a very poor job and have not behaved in a professional manner. I would not recommend Urban Surveying to anyone.

NOTE - 3 May, 2017: Urban Surveying has threatened to sue me if I don't remove this review. I would therefore like to confirm that the statement I have made is my true and honest opinion based on the available facts and that it is a fair representation of my experience with this company.

EDIT - 9 August, 2017: The rash of 5 star reviews since I wrote my original review in April could lead some to speculate at their authenticity. Anyone reading these reviews should note that each of the 'reviewers' has only one review to their name - Urban Surveying - which is unusual.

REVIEW - 20 April, 2017: We used Urban Surveying to survey our house in 2015. The report they produced was very brief. Since moving into the property we have become aware of a number of issues that we feel should have been picked up in the survey and were not – a rotten beam in the garage, dangerously loose bricks in an archway and a poorly pointed and collapsing garden wall, which we specifically asked the surveyor to check in advance of the survey being conducted.
We contacted Urban Surveying with our concerns and they offered us just £300 towards repairs, which we declined. We presented them with a more realistic quote for the works that needed to be done and they agreed to pay for the two cheapest repair jobs (the garage beam and the brick arch). They refused to pay for repairs to the garden wall. It took a lot of chasing on our side and some very evasive tactics on theirs to get them to sign a contract with our builders, but after several weeks we finally got them to sign it.
We tried to resolve the issue of the wall as amicably as possible, but we ended having to take them to the Ombudsman in an attempt to get redress over the issue. Three independent bricklayers have confirmed that the damage would have been clearly visible in 2015 and did not occur over in the last two years, but unfortunately on the ombudsman did not consider there to be enough visual evidence from 2015 to support our claim. We received the ombudsman's final decision on 12/05/17. I will be now contacting RIBA to ensure they are aware of the quality of service provided by this company.
We have been left with a potentially large bill for issues that in my opinion, should have been picked up in the initial survey. If you want to avoid the kind of experience we have had with Urban Surveying and the subsequent bullying then I would advise against using them.
