I trusted Weston homes developments but unfortunately in an attempt to recover build delays and rush through the help to buy deadline, they delivered shambolic properties this year. The defects management process has been close to useless with no proper formal structure in place to deal with issues, both emergency and non emergency. I am totally disappointed and There are a myriad of embarrassing build issues and snags, it is hugely disgraceful. For what is such a huge long term investment for home buyers I wish Weston homes had some integrity to deliver better quality homes as we deserve, I am completely dissatisfied. And it i to share my thoughts. I hope the team make good everything they have fallen short on and fix UP!

Their developments are like student projects. We have unfortunately purchased our first home newly built by Weston Homes, after 2-3 years pipes all started to leak in multiple floors and buildings. To make it worse, they are not responsible whatsoever after initial 2 years warranty which is fair enough, but their building quality is still unacceptable.

We were initially happy with Weston Homes when we moved in as finishing and construction were largely okay (there were few problems which we are still dealing with but after following up with the company they are rectifying those at a slow pace). It’s been 10 months that we have moved in and we have realized that Weston Homes have been cutting corners wherever possible. They have sold us parking pays which are cramped. This means that the plan shows 5 cars can be fit in on a particular bay when you can actually fit in just 3. We are suffering immensely owing to this problem once all residents with cars have moved in. Totally fraudulent on part of Weston Homes and now they are pushing this responsibility of marking the parking bays (yes, they have still not marked our bays as per flat numbers) to the Management Service company who have now included the cost of marking bays in our service charge.

UPDATE: The parking bay issue has been resolved. Weston Homes also took the responsibility of changing our Management company which was horrible and went out of business eventually.

For some reason Weston homes use some of the most expensive yet cheapest quality components in their builds. And yet it also makes no sense as to why a building built 3 years ago has parts like the thermostat from the 10 years ago! Everything is falling apart after 3 years. And when things go wrong the replacement parts are typically hundreds sometimes thousands. Honestly if you’re looking to have a high rise development building avoid Weston homes.

3 years after moving into property, a boiler service has picked up poor installation of plumbing relating to gas pipes. I have just discovered we have leaks by the boiler and the gas line entry. This is on top of 100+ snags which took several years to sort. I gave up pushing in the end as I also have a full time job. Terrible excuse for a builder who repeatedly cut costs, don’t care about quality and put their customers in dangerous positions. My neighbors have ALL had issues, across houses and flats and I’m not the first to have discovered dangerous defects within my property.

Do not buy a property from Weston Homes if you like quality finishing and a good customer service.

We have had an issue with our decking since the day we moved in. Water does not drain away and the decking has started turning green due to this. Its probably a simple fix, but Weston Homes clearly believes that faults with a new build property are ok and not their responsibility to fix. they said it was due to poor maintenance. We moved in back in Dec 2020 and before we even moved a single piece of furniture in, we checked for defects and the decking was faulty from day one.

I have had 3 engineers come out on separate occasions, all of which said, “the decking isn’t right”, “they’ve not seen this before” and “that it would need to be replaced”. The engineer from the decking company who came out two weeks ago said it would need replacing as he’s never seen anything like it before!

Weston homes have done everything they can not to fix this issue, they didn’t want to fix it during the defect period (I wonder why that was?!) they said it would be best to sort at the inspection at the end and I was reluctant to accept that, but I did and now they want to play stupid games and tell me it’s because we haven’t cleaned the decking? It’s ridiculous.

This is at the top of a long list of defects, which have been sorted now but it took them 16 months to do so.

If you do decide to buy a property from them, ensure you thoroughly inspect all areas for issues, as they will be likely to tell them its your fault.

Terrible builder. Awful. Do not trust them with your money.

- terrible customer service
- every door and window needs to be replaced (because they fitted them not level - what builder doesn’t use levels!!)
- appalling finish to every wall/floor/surface/ceiling (my disabled grandmother could paint better)
- dangerous electrical installations (exposed wires left under sinks!)
- customer service managers who refuse to look at issues when they attend property
- change plans with notice
- do not trust what they say and sell to you - they are NOT trustworthy

6 months after completing and we are still having to live a property that was not fit for people to move into.

If I could sell and move I would, but our house would not sell on open market in the state that Weston’s left it in.

I go to bed crying at night with the state of the property that Weston homes have sold us.
