Easter Sunday Disappointment - whilst the decor, setting and atmosphere of this stunning location is commendable the food is incredibly poor. There were alarm bells from the very start when 60 seconds after ordering the starters the appeared signifying that they certainly were not cooked fresh, however it’s the mains were the critical concerns were. Hake that was so over cooked that it had turned to cotton wool and mussels that had clearly not been prepared correctly and were gritty. Desserts were ok but to be honest by that point we’d all checked out. I advised the waitress of the poor quality of the food to be told “I’ll tell him”. Note that service was run by kids that have clearly had no training in hospitality. A very frustrating experience in what could be “with a little care and attention” an incredible venue.

Refurbished couple of years ago.
Inside - smart & corporate style, not as cosy as the old version.
The patio looks really welcoming.
Outdoor cooking.
Great place in the summer.
My food choice was disappointing. I had the seafood pancake. The pancake was thick & stodgy & the filling was so watery. It was almost inedible.
The server said this would be reported back to the chef as the food had inky been picked at. No offer of another choice or discount off the food.
The coffee was nice

My family and I hired the private dining room for my retirement 'do' on Saturday 30th March and had a lovely afternoon. My guests had travelled from all over the country so it was nice to have such a pleasant room to ourselves for a good old catch up and celebration. It was set out really well, the food and service were great and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you to all the staff at Whinstone View for making it a very special afternoon.

Beautiful venue, the pizza was just gorgeous and the fries were amazing. Our only gripe was the amount of awkward , loitering , staring into your souls staff. I counted 9 staff of which 6 standing in 2 lines staring at us and making us feel so uncomfortable. Despite the huge number of staff, it still took forever to get served at the bar. Albeit very attentive bar staff, still took too long.

First visit here today, we fancied somewhere different for breakfast and some friends had suggested Whinstone View a while back.
Waze tried to take us somewhere else, but we seen a signpost for it. The place is quite big, and not obvious of where to actually go, but we found our way and parked up.
Again, it’s not entirely obvious of where to go, we followed our instincts, and we found the right place.
We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted, once we picked a table, we were told that one was reserved. Typical us, but it wasn’t obvious.
We sat down and a lady came over to see what drinks we wanted, there was a dairy free option, so we picked our drinks, and had a look at the menu. We decided on a full English and an eggs benedict. The drinks came and we didn’t have to wait long for the food.
The food was all well cooked , very hot and the right amount (though I do prefer 2 sausages). The menu does say no swaps, but I don’t like Black pudding.
The food was really decent quality, the Oat latte was great too.
The staff cleared the plates and were very friendly and polite, asking if everything was ok on a couple of occasions.
We paid the bill, there was no pressure to tip, and we will certainly be coming back.

Half day yoga retreat.
Lovely relaxing morning in a beautiful setting. We started with mint tea (fresh, not tea bags). Did some journal prompts then a lovely yoga flow. Went for a mindful walk after having some breakfast as pictured. Then restorative yoga which was amazing but let down by the cold temperature in the barn. Apparently they do have underfloor heating in there so not sure why this wasn't on. Overall I would do this again and would be lovely if you could do one with each changing season.

Not been here for at least 15 years, popped in mid week. I was astonished how much it has changed. It’s situated in a lovely setting , sun was shining. Food and service was off the scale. We will go here again again now. Perfect place
